My research is broad, from writing on West Side Story, innovations in concert presentation, the first year teaching experience, and score study. I am currently researching programming trends in the Big Ten, cultural diplomacy via wind bands (specifically the United States and China), and the wind music of Chen Yi.

Additional scholarship interests include developing repertoire resources for directors, the wind band music of Charles Ives, and conducting pedagogy.
