Tuba Performance

Tuba performance has always been central to my musical studies and professional life. At the University of Illinois, I continued my tuba studies with Scott Tegge and gave a full length solo recital in Fall 2021.

At Indiana University, I had the opportunity to study with Daniel Perantoni and had additional studies with Sérgio Carolino (International Soloist, Porto Symphony Orchestra Casa da Música), Tony Kniffen (Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra), and Roland Szentpáli (International Soloist, Hungarian National Philharmonic Orchestra). I performed with a variety of large ensemble at Indiana, and was a active chamber musician with brass quintets.

In Kansas City, I resumed tuba studies with Professor Thomas Stein and gave a full solo recital in December 2019. I was scheduled to give another recital in May 2020, but it was cancelled due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

While teaching, I maintained a private lesson studio, and my students achieved success in solo and ensemble contest and placement in state and regional honor bands.
